Victoria 3 is set to release on October 25, 2022 exclusively for PC (via Steam). Pre-orders for the game opened on August 30th.
As mentioned, Victoria 3 is the long-awaited third entry in the Victoria franchise, coming 12 years after the previous game. As a sequel to one of Paradox Development Studio’s popular grand strategy series, fans can expect Victoria 3 to offer a similar experience to its predecessor.
Described as the “ultimate society simulator”, Victoria 3 invites players to embark on a simulation of 100 years, beginning in 1836 and ending in 1936. During this time, players can control one of over 100 countries to make political, economic and diplomatic decisions.
The gameplay again focuses on the system of population groups (“Pops”). Players must target and placate Pops who have their own needs, desires, and abilities to form powerful groups. These groups should form the basis of a realistic and dynamic society simulator.
However, new to the series with Victoria 3 is the game’s dynamic map, which reflects changes in the world influenced by player choices.
New production methods and conveniences are leading to mass migration to the cities as new industries darken the skies but brighten the future. Every decision counts and over time progress or problems will be carved into the earth.
