Ather Energy might be making a new version of the Ather 450X Gen 4 electric scooter with more power and a different shape for the chassis. Some of the specs of a new Ather electric scooter have been leaked in a new certification document. Ather could release this new model while keeping its two-model product line. Which is made up of a basic “Plus” model and a higher-end “X” model.
This happened not long after the Bengaluru-based EV startup brought out the Ather 450X Gen 3 e-scooter, which was a big improvement over the Gen 2 model.
A new approval certificate shows that the battery pack has been changed. It now has a capacity of 3.66kWh and weighs 22kg, which is more than it did before. The likely reason for the new battery pack’s heavier weight is that it has a new cooling system and a more durable case.
The new Gen 4 model also had a little more power, with a Warp Mode rating of 6.4kW, up from the Gen 3’s current Warp Mode rating of 6.2kW. Sport Mode has a peak power output of 5.8 kW, Ride Mode has a peak power output of 3.2 kW, Smart Eco Mode has a peak power output of 2.3 kW. Eco Mode has a peak power output of 1.9 kW. This is “Setting 1,” and it will probably be the “X” model in the line.
There is a “Setting 2” that is the same as Ather’s “Plus” line, but it doesn’t have the “Warp Mode.” The continuous power output of both models has dropped from 3.3kW on the old models to 3.1kW on the new ones. The “Setting 1” and “Setting 2” have been tested to have a range of 146km and 108km, respectively.

Before the official reveal, the document also shows how the vehicle’s chassis geometry and overall size have changed. Because of these changes, the upcoming Gen 4 model will be a bigger step up than Gen 3. Which didn’t change much in this way. The Gen 4 version will be 5mm wider, 136mm lower, and 1mm longer. Ather could also get 10-inch wheels instead of the 12-inch ones.
Ather’s new Gen 4 e-scooters might be coming out soon, and we’ll learn more about them in the future. It might go up against the recently released Vida V1 Pro, Ola S1 Pro, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and others. Ather Energy sells the Ather 450 Plus and the Ather 450X in India. The e-scooters cost more than Rs 1.17 lakh and Rs 1.39 lakh, respectively, after government subsidies (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
