Jio-BP, a company of Reliance Industries, will install charging stations in Mahindra & Mahindra dealerships and workshops in 16 cities throughout the country. Jio-BP, a joint venture between Mukesh Ambani’s RIL and London-based BP, will install DC fast chargers on the assembly line for Mahindra’s e-SUVs. The public will have access to these stations, which is beneficial for all parties involved in the electric vehicle supply chain, the corporations stated in a joint statement. A Memorandum of Understanding was inked by Mahindra and Jio-bp (MoU). The MOU discusses the possibilities of manufacturing EV products and services, as well as identifying similar goals and interests regarding fossil fuels and carbon emissions. In accordance with the conditions of the agreement of understanding, the two companies are also discussing a method for battery replacement. The joint venture intends to provide charging stations to facilitate the movement of EV owners inside and between cities. In order to accomplish this, the statement indicated that the two organisations want to utilise a digital platform to cover several touch locations in cities and on main motorways. Jio-bp to install EV chargers
The e-mobility solution will assist with issues such as locating charging stations and understanding how to utilise them. Additionally, it will assist with all transactional services. “Jio-bp and M&M will collaborate to accelerate the adoption of electric passenger cars in India and assist the nation in achieving its objective of net zero emissions,” according to the announcement. At the beginning of this month, Mahindra & Mahindra introduced the XUV400, its first C-segment electric vehicle, at the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai. The vehicle was introduced as a component of the company’s Born Electric Vision. In the coming years, Mahindra plans to introduce an entire lineup of electric vehicles to the Indian market.
The fast charging station network of the Reliance and BP joint venture is also expanding rapidly. Not for the first time, Jio-bp has partnered with an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer. Beginning in August, Jio-bp and Hero Electric collaborated to establish a network of charging stations and battery swapping for electric two-wheelers and assist their owners with mobility.
