Reliance Jio-bp install charging stations for Mahindra e-SUVs

Jio-BP, a division of Reliance Industries, will put charging stations in Mahindra & Mahindra dealerships and workshops all over the country, starting with 16 cities. Jio-BP, a joint venture between RIL, which is owned by Mukesh Ambani, and BP, which is based in London, will install DC fast chargers on Mahindra’s e-SUV assembly line. The public will be able to use these stations, which is good for everyone in the chain of electric vehicles, the conglomerates said in a joint statement. In December of last year, the two big companies signed a non-binding agreement to work together on electric vehicles (MoU). Mahindra and Jio-bp signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU talks about the possibility of making EV products and services, as well as finding common goals and interests related to fossil fuels and carbon emissions. Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding, the two companies are also talking about a system for swapping out batteries. The joint venture plans to set up charging stations to make it easier for EV owners to move around cities and between cities. In order to do this, the statement said that the two companies want to cover many touch points in cities and on major highways with the help of a digital platform.

It will also help with all transactional services. “Jio-bp and M&M will work together to speed up the adoption of electric passenger cars in India and help the country reach its goal of net zero emissions,” said the statement. Mahindra & Mahindra released the XUV400. Its first all-electric car in the C segment, at the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai at the beginning of this month. The car was released as part of the company’s Born Electric Vision. In the next few years, Mahindra wants to launch a whole line of electric cars in the country. The fast charging station network of the joint venture between Reliance and BP is also growing quickly. This is not the first time Jio-bp has teamed up with an electric vehicle (EV) maker. At the beginning of August, Jio-bp teamed up with Hero Electric to set up a network of charging stations and battery swapping for electric two-wheelers and help their owners get around.
