Fromer Trump’s attorney warns him that Jewish Americans will not vote for him
One of Donald Trump’s former senior attorneys told him that despite his commitment to Israel, Jewish Americans would not vote for him because they care about a variety of issues, including gay rights and access to abortion.
Alan Dershowitz, who is Jewish, claimed Trump repeatedly asked him, “Why aren’t more Jews voting for me?” I was so good for Israel. I was so good to the Jews.”
Drershowitz, who reiterated that he did not vote for Trump, told his boss that helping Israel was not enough and that he could not stand behind the GOP’s agenda.
“Jews like me admire what you’ve done for Israel, we appreciate it, but we can’t vote Republican because Israel isn’t the only issue that’s very close to our hearts,” he told Trump. “We are Americans.”
Dershowitz said other Jewish Americans like him might be liberals who also care about gay rights, access to abortion, climate change and gun control, which “are issues Republicans are not good at.”
It comes as the lawyer continues to defend Trump, who is facing anti-Semitism allegations after a bizarre post on Truth Social demanding that Jewish Americans value him the way they do in Israel, where he claimed he is so popular that he could become the next prime minister.

The former president has come under fire for his post condemning his lack of support from Jewish Americans and telling them to pull themselves together.

Last Sunday, the former president wrote: “No president has done more for Israel than I have. Surprisingly, however, our wonderful evangelicals appreciate this much more than people of the Jewish faith, especially those living in the United States
“Those living in Israel, however, are a different story – Highest approval rating in the world, could easily PM!”
Trump concluded: “US Jews need to pull themselves together and appreciate what they have in Israel – before it’s too late!”
Dershowitz, who served on Trump’s defense team during his first impeachment and criticized the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago, has sought to defend the former president who has come under fire from the Anti-Defamation League.
Speaking to Newsmax Monday, Dershowitz said Trump is not an anti-Semite and his client has long questioned his popularity in the Jewish community.
“Pretty much every time [Donald Trump] he said to me, “Alan, how come you know the Jews don’t show their admiration for me by voting for me?”
Dershowitz said he told Trump that Jewish Americans care about a wide range of issues, but that the former president will retain the votes of those who list Israel as their primary concern.
“Don’t take it personally,” Dershowitz told Trump. ‘It has nothing to do with you.
“I think every Jew I know really admires what you’ve done for Israel. It’s just that it’s not necessarily their top priority.”

In a statement to DailyMail.com, the Anti-Defamation League accused Trump of “Jewsplaining” for his comments last Sunday.
“We don’t need the former president who ingratiated himself with extremists and anti-Semites to lecture us on US-Israel relations,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO and national director of ADL.
“It’s not a quid pro quo; it is based on shared values and security interests. This Jewsplaining is insulting and disgusting.”
The White House also condemned Trump’s remarks, with spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre saying, “Donald Trump’s remarks, as you all know, were anti-Semitic and offensive, both to Jews and to our Israeli allies.
But let’s be clear – Donald Trump has been allied with extremist and anti-Semitic figures for years.

You also have a close relationship with Israel’s former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
During his tenure in the White House, Trump had been a close ally of Israel’s then-conservative government led by Benjamin Netanyahu.
His reversal of decades of US policy in the fragile region — including moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem — earned praise from conservative Jews at home and abroad.
Trump also had a notoriously close relationship with Netanyahu himself, with both right-wing leaders often heaping public praise on one another.
As a token of appreciation for his support, Netanyahu named one of Israel’s controversial settlement plans after Trump.
It’s also worth noting that Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is a devout Jew. Trump’s daughter Ivanka converted to Judaism before marrying Kushner.
But Jewish Americans have historically been a Democratic voting bloc, a trend that hasn’t changed in the 2020 presidential campaign.
