Mateschitz co-founded the company in the 1980s. But Red Bull entered Formula One the following decade through a series of sponsorship deals. Mateschitz then presided over Red Bull’s historic move to form their own Formula One team, which debuted in 2005.
Dietrich Mateschitz Death cause
Sebastian Vettel won the first of four consecutive Drivers’ Championships with Red Bull in 2010. After a period of Mercedes dominance, Verstappen restored the team’s glory by defeating Lewis Hamilton to win the title last season.
Earlier this month, the Dutchman won his second race in a row, this time at the rain-soaked Japanese Grand Prix. Mateschitz’s death confirmed less than an hour before qualifying at the United States Grand Prix, with Red Bull on the verge of winning the Constructors’ Championship.
What reason behind Dietrich Mateschitz Death?
Mateschitz and Red Bull’s involvement in F1 also includes the 2004 purchase of what then known as the A1-Ring, which was renovated before reopening in 2011. The Red Bull Ring has been on the calendar since 2014, with Charles Leclerc winning in Austria earlier this year.
In 2012, F1 legend Gerhard Berger joined forces with Mateschitz to purchase the Minardi team and rename it Scuderia Toro Rosso. Red Bull also has a strong presence in a variety of other sports. Including football, with RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg both competing in this year’s Champions League.
