Daniel Ricciardo & Lance Stroll try NFL, Brad Pitt in the paddock: insight into the action from Friday’s US GP

While the circuit of the Circuit of The Americas in Austin is set to heat up ahead of Sunday’s Grand Prix, the paddock stayed particularly cool on Friday as stars from multiple worlds collided.

Ahead of Austin’s second Grand Prix in three years – thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic – celebrities including Brad Pitt graced the paddock as drivers relaxed ahead of Friday’s first practice session.

DailyMail.com takes you into the color and the celebrity before the action begins at COTA.

Brad Pitt in the paddock

The Hollywood star strolled around in a seductive pale blue tracksuit and met up with various VIPs and admirers in the paddock.

Pitt is reportedly a guest of Lewis Hamilton and has toured the Mercedes garage, according to F1 journalist Kym Illman.

Pitt will star in a new F1 film produced by the record seven-time world champion and streamed on Apple.

calling cowboys?

Formula One drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Lance Stroll enjoyed the Texas sun in the hours leading up to Friday’s opening practice session.

Looking right at home in the Lone Star State, the Canadian-Belgian stroller wore a quintessentially Texan outfit.

With Ricciardo’s F1 future up in the air, he was beaming as he threw a football amid the glorious weather.

Lewis lights up

As always, Lewis Hamilton made a statement with his choice of outfit. Hamilton, often the most adventurous dresser on the circuit, wore a conspicuous red sleeveless vest.

Not to be outdone, his bottom half was clad in a pair of free-flowing caramel pants with a parachute look.

Take the Mick!

Mick Schumacher almost certainly brought smiles to faces who spotted his clever shirt upon arrival in the paddock.

Wearing a white shirt emblazoned with Haas boss Gunther Steiner, the 23-year-old poked fun at one of his most memorable lines.

Steiner famously dubbed his Haas team “f***** bunch of wan****, bunch of fucking clowns,” as caught on camera by the Netflix series Drive To Survive.

As the only American team in Formula 1, Haas drivers Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen will wear tailored suits with the Stars and Stripes over them this weekend.

Motorsport Kings

Champions from eras past, as well as greats from other racing codes, came out to show their faces in Austin.

The great Italian-American Mario Andretti was present. The 82-year-old won the F1 championship in 1978 and is one of only two drivers to have raced in Formula 1, alongside IndyCar, NASCAR and the World Sportscar Championship.

Five-time MotoGP World Champion Mike Doohan and ex-F1 – now IndyCar – driver Marcus Ericsson were also in attendance.

Rocking reception for AlphaTauri

Scuderia AlphaTauri drivers Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly worked hard ahead of practice, giving the barking Austin crowd what they wanted.

While the pair were signing promotional guitars, quite disappointingly, they took the stage without them.

Though it didn’t seem to mind an enthusiastic crowd at COTA, who snapped a selfie with the talented duo.
