Conor McGregor will be sacked from the Octagon for at least another six months as he has not had a drug test in more than a year.
Fighters are not allowed to compete in the UFC unless they have been in the testing pool for at least six months, which UFC President Dana White has confirmed will be the case for the former two-weight champion.
The Irishman has been out of action since breaking a leg in his second straight loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021 and his wait for a next fight will now last until 2023.

But McGregor is a fighter used to long delays between clashes in the octagon.
His last fight before his first loss to former rival Poirier was in 2020, and before that he only fought twice in four years.
Overall, the Dublin-born fighter has completed 28 professional fights, won 22 and lost six over his 14-year career.

He had planned to make his much-anticipated return before the turn of the year, although a setback in his broken leg last summer dashed those plans.
But he was anything but idle during his injury break. The 34-year-old was cast alongside Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal in a remake of the 1989 film street house on his first foray onto the big screen.
However, he previously stated that he intends to return at the 170lb weight once he is back in the octagon.
But he’ll have to wait a long time if he wants to challenge divisional champion Leon Edwards as next year he’ll first have to defend his belt against Kamaru Usman before facing anyone else.
And even then, he’ll likely be at least second behind Khamzat Chimaev, who is desperate to face trilogy fight winner Usman vs Edwards after missing his weight limit to face Nate Diaz in early 2022.
But White has revealed his desire for Chimaev to face Colby Covington next year on British soil as the co-main event of Usman’s trilogy fight with Edwards.
